Next, we stop at the Merlion Park and enjoy the impressive views of Marina Bay. Merlion Park is a famous Singapore landmark and a major tourist attraction. The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish that is widely used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore
Do not miss this picture-taking opportunity with The Merlion.
We then make our way to Kampong Glam which will help us understand more of the Malay culture. Its 19th-century shophouses have been turned into stores selling textiles and casual restaurants serving spicy Malay and global fare. Notable landmarks here include the golden domed Sultan Mosque and the Malay Heritage Centre, where exhibits focus on local history. Clothing boutiques, street art and trendy cafes. We will Walk Arab Street to view the magnificent Sultan Mosque.
Then, we visit Singapore’s historic Chinatown - a bustling mix of old and new, filled with traditional shops and local markets as well as new artisanal stores and cafes. This beautiful district is the only Chinatown in the world to boast a Buddhist temple, mosque and Hindu temple along a single street.
We will visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum and see the rich interior design and comprehensive exhibit on Buddhist art and history with stories of the religion spanning over hundreds of years. The temple’s interior is architecturally designed in the form of a mandala, a central concept in Buddhist and Hindu spirituality that represents universal connection. Hunt around the compound, and you’ll find hidden gems like a rooftop garden adorned with a beautiful pagoda and a food court selling vegetarian cuisine.
